Microtune's mobile TV tuner deployed in Modeo's DVB-H smartphone
April 10, 2006 Plano, TX -- Microtune's Mobile MicroTuner MT2260 chip has been integrated into the architecture of Modeo's DVB-H integrated smartphone, which offers converged digital TV, video, voice, and data services on a single device. Based on the digital video broadcast-handheld (DVB-H) standard, the smartphone is being manufactured to Modeo's mobile TV specifications by HTC.

Microtune calls its MT2260 chip "a high-performance, ultra low-power tuner designed specifically to let users watch multi-channel broadcast TV with full-motion digital pictures and near CD-quality sound." Applications for the tuner chip include smartphones, digital/analog TVs, personal video recorder set-top boxes, cable modems, digital telephony modems, portable DVD players, multimedia cards, and PC-TV adapters.
